Tbilisi city tour and old Mtskheta

We begin in Tbilisi, wandering the Old Town and riding the cable car to the Narikala fortress for a first view over the capital. In the afternoon we drive the short distance to Mtskheta, the ancient spiritual centre of Georgia, to visit the grand Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the hilltop Jvari Monastery looking down over the meeting of two rivers.

2
Kakheti – Sighnaghi, Bodbe and the wineries

Today we travel east into the Alazani Valley, the heart of Georgian winemaking. We visit the serene Bodbe Convent and the walled hill town of Sighnaghi, then settle in at a family winery for a qvevri wine tasting and a long traditional lunch before returning to Tbilisi.
