TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
The Georgian Military Highway is one of the world's great mountain roads, and your transfer runs the best of it: the twin-towered Ananuri fortress above the turquoise Zhinvali reservoir, the mosaic balcony of the Friendship Monument hanging over the Devil's Valley, and white ridgelines stacked to the horizon. Pushkin travelled it, Dumas wrote about it, and two thousand years of caravans wore it smooth — keep the camera on your lap for the whole two hours.
Few images say 'Georgia' like Gergeti Trinity Church standing alone at 2,170 m against the glaciers of Mount Kazbek. Built in the 14th century and reachable in winter only by 4x4 up a snow-packed mountain road, it has guarded the valley — and, in troubled times, the country's holiest relics — for six hundred years. On this trip the ascent is a half-day expedition with lunch facing the 5,054 m peak, and the photograph you take here will outlive every other souvenir.
The week ends where Georgia began: in the sulfur-scented lanes of old Tbilisi. A private session in the brick-domed baths of Abanotubani — the hot springs that founded the city 1,600 years ago — steams the mountains out of your muscles, before a farewell supra where the tamada raises toasts, the polyphony rises with them, and the Saperavi does the rest. No other ski destination closes a week like this.

Arrival & Transfer to Gudauri
We meet you in the arrivals hall of Tbilisi International Airport and head straight for the mountains along the Georgian Military Highway — a road travelled by Pushkin, Dumas and two thousand years of caravans. Two hours later you're at 2,000 m in Gudauri, checking into a 4* half-board hotel near the lifts. Equipment rental, a short briefing on the slopes and lift system, and dinner with your first Georgian toasts.

Ski Day in Gudauri
A full first day on the largest ski area in the Caucasus: some 70 km of wide, treeless pistes between 1,990 and 3,279 m, served by modern gondolas and chairlifts. The terrain flatters everyone — long cruisers for intermediates, gentle nursery slopes for beginners, and endless side-piste powder after a snowfall. Optional extras: ski school, night skiing on the illuminated run, or an afternoon snowmobile safari.

Ski Day in Gudauri
Second day on the mountain, and time to go higher: the Sadzele sector opens big-mountain views and steeper fall lines, while the lower carousel of lifts keeps things mellow for the cautious. Instructors and guides are available on request, and the mid-mountain terraces do a serious line in mulled wine. Evening at leisure — the hotel sauna is the local recovery ritual.

Kazbegi: Gergeti Trinity Church
A day off the slopes for the most famous view in Georgia. We drive north past the Cross Pass to Stepantsminda, then switch to 4x4s for the climb to Gergeti Trinity Church (2,170 m) — a 14th-century sanctuary standing utterly alone beneath the glaciers of Mount Kazbek (5,054 m). Lunch faces the peak; the brave can add a tandem paragliding flight over the pass on the way home.

The farewell lap: a final full day to collect your favourite runs, book a guided freeride taster on the untracked side of the ridge, or simply park yourself on a panoramic terrace and let the Caucasus do the entertaining. Ski passes are valid all day, so the last gondola is a personal decision.

Tbilisi: Sulfur Baths & Farewell
We wind back down the Military Highway to Tbilisi and check in in the city centre. The evening belongs to the old town: a private session in the brick-domed sulfur baths of Abanotubani — the springs that gave the city its name — followed by a farewell supra with live Georgian folk music and a tamada to guide the toasts.
