TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

Kartlis Deda, The Mother of Georgia Monument standing over the Old Tbilisi district

Trade one snow day for the country's defining image: Gergeti Trinity Church alone at 2,170 m against the east face of Mount Kazbek. The 4x4 climb up the snow-packed road is an adventure in its own right, and at the top the 14th-century sanctuary and the 5,054 m glacier behind it arrange themselves into the photograph of your trip. Mulled wine in Stepantsminda on the way down seals it.

Kartlis Deda, The Mother of Georgia Monument standing over the Old Tbilisi district

Persian bathhouses, Art Nouveau stairwells, Soviet mosaics and glass-and-steel bridges — Tbilisi layers fifteen centuries into one walkable old town. Winter is its coziest season: steam curling off the sulfur-bath domes, wine bars glowing along Sololaki's crumbling-elegant lanes, and the Narikala cable car floating over it all at dusk. This is the city half of your break, and it holds its own against any snow.

Kartlis Deda, The Mother of Georgia Monument standing over the Old Tbilisi district

Twenty minutes from Tbilisi, at the meeting of two rivers, sits Georgia's ancient capital and spiritual heart. Svetitskhoveli Cathedral — burial place of kings and, by tradition, of Christ's robe — anchors the town below, while Jvari Monastery watches from its clifftop exactly as it has since the 6th century. Together they form a UNESCO ensemble that compresses 1,500 years of faith into one unhurried morning.

TOUR ITINERARY

DAY
1
Arrival & Evening Old Tbilisi

We meet you at the airport and drop your bags in the city centre. The first evening belongs to old Tbilisi: the cable car up to Narikala fortress for the classic panorama, the brick domes of the Abanotubani sulfur-bath quarter steaming below, and the Bridge of Peace glowing over the Kura. A welcome dinner with wine and toasts sets the tone.

DAY
2
Tbilisi & Mtskheta (UNESCO)

Morning in Mtskheta, Georgia's ancient capital and a UNESCO site twenty minutes from the city: Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and Jvari Monastery on its clifftop above the confluence of two rivers. Back in Tbilisi, the afternoon is for a sulfur-bath session and the natural-wine bars of Sololaki.

DAY
3
Snow Day in Gudauri

Up the Georgian Military Highway to Gudauri at 2,200 m — from city pavement to deep snow in two hours. The day is built for absolute beginners and non-skiers: a first-ever ski lesson with an instructor, a snowmobile safari across the plateau, sledging, or simply a long mountain lunch with mulled wine and the Greater Caucasus filling every window. Overnight at altitude.

4
Ski or Kazbegi & Return

Choose your finale: a second day on the snow, or a 4x4 pilgrimage to Gergeti Trinity Church beneath Mount Kazbek (5,054 m) — the single most photographed view in the country. By evening we're back in Tbilisi for a farewell dinner in the old town.
