Tbilisi Old Town and beyond
A full day on foot through the layers of the capital. We begin in the tangle of Old Town lanes and the steaming Abanotubani sulphur-bath district, then ride the cable car up to the Narikala fortress for a panorama over the rooftops and river. We see the cliff-top Metekhi Church, cross the glass Bridge of Peace, and pass the famously leaning clock tower of the puppet theatre. The day unfolds slowly through Shardeni’s cafés and grand Rustaveli Avenue, with stops for Georgian coffee, wine and a long lunch, and an optional visit to the National Museum for those who want more.
