A full day in the capital: the Old Town, the Narikala fortress by cable car, the sulphur baths and the Bridge of Peace, with time for Georgian wine and cuisine.

Dashbashi Canyon, Lake Paravani and Vardzia

We climb onto the volcanic Javakheti plateau, pausing at the glass-bridged Dashbashi Canyon and the wide waters of Lake Paravani, then descend toward the great cave city of Vardzia for the night.

Vardzia and Rabati Castle

This morning we explore Vardzia, the 12th-century cave city of Queen Tamar carved across thirteen levels of rock, then visit the restored Rabati Castle in Akhaltsikhe before the drive back to Tbilisi.
