Okatse Canyon
Cliff-edge walkway above a gorge
Not far from Kutaisi in western Georgia, Okatse Canyon offers one of the country’s most exhilarating walks — a metal walkway bolted to the cliff face, suspended high above the river as it cuts through the gorge.
The trail begins with a forest walk through the Dadiani estate woodland before reaching the hanging walkway, which clings to the rock for several hundred metres with the canyon floor far below. A viewing platform juts out over the void for those with a head for heights.
Nearby, the Kinchkha Waterfall tumbles in several tiers through the forest, an easy and beautiful addition to the day.
Okatse is most often combined with the emerald Martvili Canyon for a full day of canyons and waterfalls in the green heart of Imereti.
Join us at Okatse to walk the cliff edge high above a western Georgian gorge.
