TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Travel into Racha, a quiet, deeply green mountain region of forests and alpine meadows, home to the carved church of Nikortsminda, the resort of Shovi and the famous Khvanchkara wine.
Glide by boat through Martvili Canyon, a gorge of mossy marble walls and clear jade-green water once reserved for local nobility. Above, paths lead past small waterfalls and pools.
Walk the vertigo-inducing cliff-edge walkway of Okatse Canyon, suspended high above the river, then visit the tiered Kinchkha Waterfall tumbling through the forest nearby.
Journey into Svaneti, a land of medieval stone towers beneath the highest peaks of the Caucasus. Explore the museums of Mestia and the UNESCO village of Ushguli, one of Europe’s highest settlements.
Visit Mtskheta, the ancient capital and spiritual centre of Georgia. Explore the UNESCO-listed Svetitskhoveli Cathedral and the 6th-century Jvari Monastery, perched on a cliff above the meeting of two great rivers. It’s a place where history and faith feel timeless.

We begin in the hills above Kutaisi at the UNESCO-listed Gelati Monastery and the clifftop Motsameta, then the illuminated Prometheus Cave.

A drive into the green mountains of Racha to the carved church of Nikortsminda and the alpine resort of Shovi, with an overnight in Ambrolauri.

Martvili, Okatse and Zugdidi
A boat ride through the emerald Martvili Canyon and the cliff-edge walkway of Okatse, then on to the princely town of Zugdidi for the night.
