This part of Georgia, where the Great Caucasus meets subtropical shores, is a land of dramatic contrasts. In Kutaisi, history whispers through the arches of Bagrati Cathedral and the cliffs of Motsameta Monastery. In Mestia and Ushguli, the spirit of the Svans lives on in their rugged landscapes and centuries-old traditions. And finally, in Batumi, palm-lined boulevards and the sound of the sea offer a perfect moment of relaxation after days spent in the mountains.

Kutaisi & Promised Caves
Explore Kutaisi, a city with a history spanning several millennia. From the grand Bagrati Cathedral to the hidden Motsameta Monastery perched above a river gorge, this region is rich in legends of the Golden Fleece. A visit to the vibrant local bazaar will offer you the most authentic gastronomic experience of Western Georgia.
TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival in Kutaisi
Arrival in Kutaisi depending on the flight. After hotel check-in, there is time to rest and settle in. Later, we begin discovering the city: the lively Colchis Fountain in the central square, the quiet paths around Motsameta Monastery perched above a river gorge, and the historic Bagrati Cathedral overlooking the town from its hilltop. The first evening ends with dinner at a local restaurant, a good introduction to western Georgian cuisine.

Day 2 The Road to Svaneti
In the morning, we head to the Prometheus Cave. The route leads through illuminated chambers, underground rivers, and numerous rock formations — it’s one of the most spectacular sights in the region. After the visit, we continue toward Zugdidi and then into the mountains. We stop at the Enguri Dam, where a viewpoint offers sweeping views of the massive structure and the surrounding mountain passes. The final stretch of the road climbs into Upper Svaneti, and we arrive in Mestia in the late afternoon. Dinner in the evening.

Day 3 In the High Caucasus Mountains
This day is dedicated to an excursion to Ushguli (UNESCO). The road leads through narrow valleys, steep slopes, and small Svan villages. Upon arrival, we are greeted by views of medieval defensive towers, stone houses, and Mount Shkhara rising at the end of the valley. There is time for a walk around the village, meeting local residents, and experiencing the atmosphere of one of the highest continuously inhabited places in Europe (2,200 m above sea level). In the evening, we return to Mestia for dinner.

Day 4 Mountain Panoramas
In the morning, we head toward the viewpoint above the Koruldi Lakes. From the top, there is a sweeping view of the entire Mestia Valley, surrounded by steep ridges and glaciers. It is one of the most iconic photo spots in the area.
Optional: If time permits, you may take the Hatsvali–Zuruldi cable car, which offers a breathtaking panorama of the entire western Caucasus range crowned by Mount Ushba, or visit the Ethnographic Museum in Mestia.

Day 5 From the Mountains to the Black Sea
After breakfast, we leave Mestia and descend toward the Black Sea coast. The landscape gradually shifts from high mountain scenery to a subtropical environment. On the way, we stop at the Georgia Miniature Park, where miniature models of the country’s most important landmarks are displayed amidst lush greenery. In the afternoon, we arrive in Batumi, have dinner, and enjoy some free time.

The whole day is set aside for relaxation or individual exploration. You can stroll along the boulevard, visit the old town, enjoy the beach, or stop by local cafés and shops. In the evening, dinner at a restaurant.

Day 7 Adjara and Return to Kutaisi
In the morning, enjoy free time or take an optional excursion to the Makhuntseti Waterfall along with a wine tasting at the Adjarian Wine House. Afterwards, there is a moment for shopping at the Batumi bazaar, followed by an afternoon departure for Kutaisi. In the evening, a farewell dinner concludes the journey.

ACTUAL OFFERS

April to October are the best months to explore West Georgia. The Black Sea breeze keeps the climate mild, with temperatures usually between 18–26°C. Spring brings lush greenery and blooming tea plantations, while autumn offers clear skies and harvest colors. Coastal areas sit at sea level, but nearby mountains rise quickly to 1,500–2,500 m, where air is cooler and fresh. Tourist sites remain pleasantly uncrowded, making the experience relaxed and authentic.
